Greetings, and happy official start of the market season!

This past Saturday, The Grumpy Gnome and I set up our booth in the early hours of the morning to kick off the opening day of Chesterton’s European Market. This incredible market is heading into its 21st season, and takes place every Saturday in the heart of downtown Chesterton, Indiana. Chesterton is a gateway town to the entrance of Indiana Dunes National Park. There is a wonderful tapestry of local business and artists who thrive across this region south of Lake Michigan’s shoreline. The people are what make this market an amazing local gem not to be missed. We are there nearly every Saturday between May and October, because the community that supports this market is so wonderful!

The Grumpy Gnome and I are entering our third season as vendors with Chesterton’s European Market, and we’re so happy to be be back! We really missed everyone during the off season—opening day felt like a wonderful reunion. We were fortunate to have great weather, and a full crowd from opening to close. The other vendors we’ve met through Chesterton are truly amazing! Their talent, generosity, and artistry are what make this an incredibly special place to visit, and spend time. It’s a collective of people who are remarkably passionate and dedicated to the work they create, which ranges from original art to beautiful home decor, jewelry, plants, vintage goods, delicious food, fresh produce, and unique handmade creations. It’s a very family-friendly environment, and lots of people bring their dogs! Live music and seasonal activities for kids are featured throughout the market season, as well. Wonderful local businesses line Broadway just past the edge of the market— O’Gara & Wilson (The Antiquarian Bookstore), Red Cup Cafe, Essential Wave Studios, Three Moons Fiberworks, and (219) Taproom are a few of my favorite places to visit.

It felt so good on Saturday to be back, and I LOVED seeing everyone who came out! We’re all looking forward to a beautiful, busy summer, and are excited to share some of our newest creations from the studio. Next Saturday is already almost here—and before too much time passes, I really wanted to take this moment to thank all of you who have made Chesterton our market home. We look forward to every Saturday, and even on the longest days, leave happy from our time there. Here’s to a fantastic 21st season—let’s do this!
