SCENIC DESIGN

When I was little, I couldn’t have imagined that I would become a scenic designer. But honestly, it makes perfect sense. I have always loved the act of making art, and of performance. Of research, literature, music, expression. Creating shows in our backyard as kids was an everyday activity that we lived for. We would imagine ourselves into other worlds and create them, with whatever we had on hand.

Ultimately, everything I do in art and design circles back to storytelling. Scenic Design is storytelling on a very large, tangible scale. It’s a profession that has guided me to meet some of the most extraordinary people of my life. It has challenged me, transformed me, and helped me grow exponentially as an artist and a person. Most importantly, it has taught me the true meaning of collaboration, and all of the magic the creative process can open. Here are some highlights of my scenic design projects!

Collaboration.

Everything I have ever achieved in theater as a designer has been through the act of collaboration. Of understanding that the contribution of everyone’s strengths, authenticity, and heart are what makes a production outstanding. Be open. Listen. The amount you will learn about yourself through truly working with others will help you grow and step into your highest potential.
